Was Itasca County asleep at the wheel? I would think A court administrator with persistent and decades long financial issues would be a concern. After I was criticized on Facebook for speculating on the cause of these issues, I decided to do some quick research. She and her husband have been sued multiple times in MN for debts, besides the American Bank case. One was about a mortgage. I have not taken to sort through the filings on that one. Another was for less than $700. Huge red flag.
She and her husband have filed bankruptcy 3 times. Their 2022 bankruptcy was dismissed by the courts when they failed to make the monthly payments to the court that they had agreed to. She has filed for bankruptcy alone on 1/15/25. It is not a good sign when the IRS contests the plan. How do you end up owing the IRS $45K? Between the two of them they make in excess of $150k a year.
To those critical about me talking about this, it is all public record. Every court case is a public record. MN has a wonderful site for accessing court records. The US government has pacer.gov to access all federal cases. Bankruptcies tend to be federal.
