It’s pretty ridiculous. The judge in that case wrote that one reason she was accepting the plea agreement was to spare the victim the trauma of testifying in a trial–but we spoke with the victim, who told us that she had WANTED to testify and that she did not agree with the judge’s decision.

My heart goes out to the family. Having to deal with the loss is tragic enough, let alone the failed process to lock up this killer.
