  1. I am curious about something now. The zoning administrator in Lakewood is the former building inspector for Hermantown.

    I think it was last year that he continued each zoning meeting bringing up the idea of going to county zoning, It made no sense.

    One of the reasons he brought up was that if a child wanted to sell eggs at the end of their driveway, Lakewood would not allow it, but the county would. Since the public is not allowed to speak except for three minutes at the beginning of the meeting, no one could mention the fact that Lakewood zoning specifically says it supports agriculture.

    The town board had said that they were going to have a town vote on if the citizens want to go to county.

    Now it has changed to that there will be a public hearing Nov 19 and the board will vote.

    One of the town board members said that she would do a comparison of the ordinances. At the zoning meeting, they discussed it and scornfully said that she had an agenda. I gather that county zoning did not look too good. The member is an attorney so she would have good analytic skills.

    It is extremely curious.
